Amplify

A React Native web app that allows authenticated users to join a group “jukebox” where they can add songs from Spotify and YouTube. In process of being published on IOS App Store!

My Role:

I was asked to be a design advisor during my sophomore year for the UI for this senior project. I made improvements to the original, existing interface through Photoshop and a developer on the team implemented those changes. A before and after is shown on the next page. Additionally, I designed a logo for the actual app icon inspired by the style of the Apple Music icon.

Changes:

Before

  • No movement

  • Unbalanced feeling for space

  • No indication for the queue

  • Slide up animation to queue for the user to view more items

  • “Record-like” rotation animation to album cover for whimsical feel and style

  • “Next Up…” Header for queue

  • Outline around album cover to tie it in to the rest of the design

  • Repositioning of song info after move
