Naruto Shadow Clones Lens

My first assignment for Theory of AR Production! The prompt was to make a lens that used head tracking capabilities to attach an object to the user’s head.

Try it out by scanning the Snapcode, clicking the image, or using this link!

Features: Head tracking, body segmentation, background segmentation, hand gesture tracking, custom triggers, particle effects, audio effects

About the Lens:

I wanted to try out using the more advanced AR tracking capabilities that Lens Studio had to offer, so I decided to use gesture tracking, which allows you to trigger different effects based on recognized hand gesture. Since the assignment was to attach an object to the user’s head, I thought it would be perfect to use the iconic Naruto ninja headbands and do an effect based on one of my favorite animes growing up since hand gestures are a huge part of the show as well.

How to use:

Simply put up a peace sign and watch your shadow clones appear!

Inspiration:

Here is an example of the jutsu from Naruto that inspired this Snapchat Lens. He weaves a handsign and “shadow clones” of himself pop out around him.
